Stairway Comeback

After being the target of an insult or diss, the recipient is at a loss for words & has no comeback. On the way out of the building walking down the stairs they think of a great comeback they SHOULD have used.

Insulter: “You think you’re hot shit but you’re nothing but a smartass.”
Recipient: “err… I’m gonna leave now”
**on the way down the stairs**
Recipient thinks “Damn! I should have said that being a smartass is better than being a dumbass....
Grrr another opportunity lost with a stairway comeback"

When a wrestler, usually a babyface, no-sells his opponent's offense, usually after several minutes of being dominated. This tactic usually sets up the finish and victory by the face wrestler. The most well known example of this Hulk Hogan and recently John Cena.

Costanza comeback

A phenomenal comeback to an insult, that arrives in your head only 30 minutes too late. Coined from George's antics in the "Jerk Store" episode of Seinfeld. Frequently encountered during the car ride home from somewhere and in more extreme cases while in bed the night after getting humiliated.

After getting caught ingesting pounds of shrimp in a meeting a coworker tells George that, "the ocean called, they're running out of shrimp" To this shaming George has no reply. Then on the drive home he comes up with a Costanza comeback, "well the Jerk Store called and they're running out of you!"

A team called the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL who tends to let their opponents run up the score for the first 40 minutes of play until tearing them apart in the last 20.

2-0 Calgary Flames after the 1st period
5-0 Calgary Flames after the 2nd period
7-5 Vancouver Canucks after the 3rd period.
