disaster capitalism

(POLICY) an extreme form of capitalism created in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. In some cases, as in Chile (1973), the disaster is a coup d'etat with the express purpose of imposing disaster capitalism. In other cases, such as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, it is a genuine natural disaster that literally kills.

After some disasters, the authorities in some countries may well respond by imposing "reforms" that would have been impossible before. These include: (1) privatization of public property, making it unavailable to the indigenous people; (2) arbitrary elimination of laws ("deregulation"); and (3) slashing democratically chosen programs that help ordinary citizens ("austerity programs").

The concept was popularized in Naomi Klein's excellent 2007 book, *The Shock Doctrine*.
"Disaster capitalism" is neoliberalism imposed undemocratically. It exploits natural disasters, civil wars, foreign invasions, coups d'etat, terrorism, or explicit deception. It always seeks to make its changes irreversible.

Naomi Klein mostly blames the International Monetary Fund, but there are other culprits as well.

cannibalism

A very popular sport invented in Cambodia in 1924 to solve their overpopulation problem. The European occupation helped it spread to Britain, but was soon banned in both lands due to Cambodian dictatorship and British protest (King George III was nearly eaten by the Duke of York).

It is still practiced by Cambodian tribes, and is pressured to become an Olympic sport.
My Cambodian friend, Xiao Dong, likes to play cannibalism with my family, but every time we play one of my relatives goes missing....

Social Capitalism

Social Capitalism makes reference to a highly collective, planed and centralised economical system whereby although contrast to Socialist economies..The ownership of private wealth and property are not prohibited....The value and worth however of ones labor, produce and property are determined not by the laborer owner of a property Commercial or noncommercial and the producer of goods..But rather these are entirely subject to regulative, predetermined and pre established values, Worth and measures sanctioned or approved by a highly centralised state authority. Social Capitalism, is effectively the middle stage of the transitional process when a Laissez-faire free market economy is transformed in to a Capitalist or Corporate economy.
Social Capitalism, reflects upon the transition of Americas early Laissez-faire free market economy in to a highly centralised planed economy, subject to the regulative and control of a centeralised and powerful state authority.

galactic cannibalism

The most common result of the gravitational merger of two or more galaxies is an irregular galaxy of one form or another, although elliptical galaxies may also result. It has been suggested that galactic cannibalism is currently occurring between the Milky Way and the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.

scapegoat capitalism

when a good or service is provided by two separate companies in partnership, and when something goes wrong company A tells you to reach out to company B and company B tells you to reach out to company A.
I went to Apple because I was having a problem with my iPhone and they told me I had to go to the AT&T store to fix it. I went to the AT&T store and they told me to go back to Apple. Typical scapegoat capitalism.

I ordered food on Uber Eats, but it never came. I called their customer service line and they told me to reach out to the restaurant. When I called the restaurant they told me I should reach out to my Uber Eats driver. True scapegoat capitalism at work.

Capitalism

You have two cows. You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows. The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a Cayman Island company secretly owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company. The annual report says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more. You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States, leaving you with nine cows. No balance sheet provided with the release. The public buys your bull.
