Meaning: would have, could have, should have
A reply you give to a whinging person who is expressing regret for not having taken a particular course of action when the opportunity originally presented itself. They've suffered the consequences and they are possibly fishing for sympathy or simply beating themselves up about it.

It essentially means, "Too late for regrets, you can't change the past, get on with your life, learn from the experience, make better choices in future, stop doing a post mortem on your life."

Brian: If only I'd listened to my folks and hadn't dropped out of school, I could've been someone by now.

What someone says when they have to pee really bad. During World War II, thousands of badly wounded Japanese soldiers were abandoned in the jungles of the South Pacific. Their wounds prevented them from being able to unbutton and pull down their trousers by themselves. Therefore, they were left to die alone with extremely full bladders.

Situation 1:

Drunk guy #1: Oh man, I gotta piss like a wounded Jap!

Drunk guy #2: Dude, you have the weakest bladder in the world.

Situation 2:

Wounded Japanese Soldier: Ooooooohhhh!!!

Eddie Would Go

"Eddie Would Go" is a popular Hawaiian phrase that is synonymous with a willingness to take risks and do the right thing, even if it's scary. The phrase comes from the beloved Surfer and Lifeguard Eddie Aikau, who saved over 500 swimmers during his time at Waimea Bay. He braved waves over 30 feet high, and, no matter how bad the surf, would risk his life to save others, which inspired the phrase "Eddie Would Go". In 1978, he was part of a voyage from Hawaii to Tahiti when the canoe sprung a leak. Eddie decided to head out and paddle his surfboard to the nearest island to get help. He was never seen again, and Hawaii launched the biggest air to sea search/rescue mission in it's entire history. The phrase is a staple on Hawaiian t shirts and bumper stickers to this day.

Equivalent, although much more pretentious phrases would be: YOLO, Carpe Diem, Sieze the Day, etc

"Hey, bro, you wanna come cliff jumping with us later?"
"I'm not so sure... That sounds dangerous."
