When you and a friend or possibly many friends spend a large amount of time together, preferably over 3 hours, it is called a shift, but only when you have had an immense time. The acknowledgment of the sift is usually acknowledged by saying “Yes Sir that was a stunning shift”

Sam: Liam, these past few hours have been a stunning shift.

Liam: yes sir it certainly has been
