Rube Goldberg Machine

Basically, a 'machine' that uses many ordinary items, and positions them in a way so that when activated, sometimes by 'knocking down the first domino' so to speak, it leads to a series of events that are all activated by the previous events.
They are most always elaborate, with many things going on at one time.
They are hard to build, and sometimes take over 4 months and a millions hours to build, but the results are spectacular.

Child 1: Hey, let's play Mouse Trap!
Child 2: I heard that's something called a Rube Goldberg Machine!

Teen 1: Have you seen Ok Go's new video, 'This Too Shall Pass'? It's totally a Rube Goldberg Machine!

(Derrogatory.) A cubicle in which an entry-level IT or clerical employee works, typically far from the break room and restroom and having no windows.

The new employee did not take lightly the fact that her workspace was refered to as a "rube cube" by the other employees.

Rube Chat

Absolutely pointless "networking tool" that Minnesota sports fan overuse in an attempt to gain and then flaunt popularity. A potentially useful dating/networking tool for adults gone awry because it became a contest to see who could get the most "points" added... (and by "points" I mean other insecure members post in your thread to increase THEIR OWN points count). An addiction where you must sign on every .3232134 seconds to see if anyone posted a comment, or sent you a message.

It does serve as a purposeful tool for anyone who is feeling they are not as smart as the people they hang out with in real life. Just a few minutes on Rube Chat and you'll find yourself thinking that you just might be one of the smartest people in the world.

Yo dawg I was totally getting schooled playing Trivial Persuit so I logged on to Rube Chat and within minutes I was schooling people with my knowledge of brown ties, sharts, religion, and politics! Oh and we talked some sports to.

noun: low quality food - mostly corn/wheat/sugar-based - on most grocery store shelves, meant for consumption by disease-prone, classless people.

I would go to the grocery store in town, but all they sell there is rube-kibble.

Rube Goldberg

(Verb) To slack off for 4 weeks on a school project while the competition works for the entire time straigt. The night before the project is due have one group member take it home put some crap together and barely make a working project, the next day, at the big competition between many schools, your project wins first place while the other groups project crashes and burns. Your project later falls apart on the bus ride home.

I totally pulled a Rube Goldberg out of my ass on that one, 1st place up in here.
