Thinking in montage

Thinking in flashes of momentous progress and the eventual perfect ending, without considering all of the work required in the in-between-time in order to make difficult and/or arduous things happen.

Eg: Mike gets hiking boots. Mike imagines himself hiking the West Coast Trail. Mike sees himself climbing Everest. Mike feels happy. Mike forgets that he smokes 2 packs per day and considers beer a food group... Mike's image of himself on top of Everest means he's been Thinking in montage and forgot he has to train for 3 years in order to be able to do this...
