A single person that pretends to be friends with you only to maintain a friendship with your partner. Often causing relationship problems of doubt and mistrust.

She acts like she's my friend too, but she's a fake friend, always texting my husband trying to make plans that don't include me.

Someone who

-viciously spreads rumors behind your back but pretends to be your friend.

-tells you that they will always be there for you, yet in reality are never.

-only talks about themselves and their own petty self inflicted dramas.

-constantly verbally beats you down while pretending that by pointing out your flaws they are doing you a favor.

-will do anything to try to be cool , even if it means insulting you and others in the process.

-only needs a shoulder to cry on and doesn't care about you.

-might even be insane.

Wow, just now realizing that all I have in my life are fake friends.

Fake friend

Someone you once trusted and loved but then they started treating you like shit. If They hurt you and gossip about you they are fake friends, if they make you sad and than getting mad at you about being hurt because of what they say. Trust me guys: you are not over reacting, you are not petty or stubborn. If it hurts you it hurts you and this is never your fault. Even if you don't have a lot of friends, it's better than having a fake friend. So if you realized you have a fake friend do yourself a favor and live him alone.
