Chicken scratch (in art) appears messy with many strokes to make one line. For it to be truly chicken scratch, the art would have an odd formation of shapes- as in the shape isn't clear due to overlapping lines.

Chinkenscratch

Derogatory term for the character-based asian languages such as Chinese and Japanese. It comes from the 'pictograms' looking overly detailed to an outside observer, as indecipherable as chicken scratch handwriting. The root word is "chink" to also imply the racist stereotype that all asians are Chinese.
