An African-American who is not particularly well-rounded or cultured. Exceptionally rural.

1. Person 1: "Did you read that book about Harriet Tubman?"
Person 2: 'Who'
Person 1: "Country negro"

2.Person 1: "Did you vote in the last election"
Person 2: "Naw"
Person 1: "Country negro"

Phantom Negro

A nonexistent black person, usually male, who is blamed by a white person for a crime that said white person committed themselves. So far the Phantom Negro has kidnapped and murdered Susan Smith's kids, carved the letter B (for Barack Obama) in Ashley Todd's face, thrown acid in Bethany Storro's face, and murdered Charles Stuart's wife.

Person 1: Hey, did you hear that Whiteguy McWhitey burned down his own house and told the police a black guy did it?
Person 2: The Phantom Negro strikes again.
