It looks good on paper, but he doesn't make investments with any other trading firm and just gives you other "investors'" money. A Madoff Artists keeps his Ponzi Scheme going until there is no more money and the well dries up. When the well dries up that's when the Madoff Artists has no more money to return and people ask for their money to be returned. The scam falls apart and the Madoff Artist get arrested, charged with securities fraud, pleas guilty or takes his chances in court, convicted, and sent to Federal prison.
