Expressing complaints and/or frustration with a verbal sigh. A form of whining.

Jeez, she wouldn't stop sigh crying over the smallest of things. I even had to invent a phrase to define it.

pretty cry

The only thing Hye-ji from Cinderella and The Four Knights was useful for. I get it, I liked her too but really, tell me something else about her that isn’t related to Hyun-min or Ji-woon. Anyway, pretty crying takes a lot of effort and isn’t very pleasurable. If you want to weep, feel free to go all out, Psalm 6 style. If it helps, you can do what I do and cry in secret. "Onion" Cry

When someone is cooking and they start crying, and say "ugh, it's just the onions" when they are nowhere near onions. They are usually upset. Give them a hug and take over on cooking, take them out to ice cream after dinner. It's not the onions. Clearly.

Husband: Why are you crying?

Husband: You're making tomato soup.
