In the days following the presentation, internet users began flooding the comment sections of Nintendo’s social media posts with the phrase in order to protest the US$450 and US$70-80 price tags of the console and its games, respectively.
I watched the Treehouse live stream earlier this month and the chat was filled with nothing but people spamming “DROP THE PRICE.”
