Latent-Ineptitude/Generalized-Mania Affliction (commonly shortened to LIGMA) is an extremely rare psychoneuroimmunological illness in which both the
brain chemistry and behavior of an individual form a type of symbiotic relationship, leading to decline in both mental health and newfound physical illness. Essentially, increased aggression and hostile behavior from a person with LIGMA can cause severe trauma to the structure of the
brain, altering the
brain chemistry of a person, which, in return, increases the aggressive behavior of an individual, which alters
brain chemistry, and so on and so forth.
Those suffering the illness have been found to exonerate certain negative and self-destructive behaviors of theirs, leading to a false sense of superiority and delusions about the world.
They typically have difficulty accepting latent content, or the
reality of things around them, and hold beliefs that are rationally condescending. This can cause episodes of Mania or mental breakdowns over the smallest of inconveniences, like losing at a video game.
It’s not talked about much in mainstream media given that it only affects 1 out of every 24 million people, but most of the public’s knowledge of the condition comes from
popular YouTuber, online content creator, and Twitch Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who unfortunately passed away from the illness back in
2018 after suffering a
brain hemorrhage.
