Many whites claim it's a term of endearment (akin to brother, friendo, etc), but in no way can it be as its root meaning is ignorance. It's another double standard of classism in our current time.

Were just some good ol boys from the sticks. We consider deer season a holiday. Not all of us live in the country but we would take small towns over a city 100% of the time. If you're nice to us were nice to you but dont try and fight us. People use the term hick as derogatory but its not were proud to be hicks. Were God fearing, patriotic, hard working, hell raising Americans.
