California Exodus

The "California Exodus" describes this phenomenon where people have moved out of the state of California because of various factors, which include:

a. high cost of living
b. the threat of natural disasters, such as earthquakes, wildfires, and maybe even the Yellowstone volcano in the future
c. COVID restrictions
d. rising crime rates and homelessness

Common destinations for Californian "refugees" include Texas, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington (Washington state, not Washington DC). But a lot of locals living in those states don't like the Californians because they think the Californians will end up bringing their own problems from California to their new homes and ruin their new communities, etc.

Elon Musk has moved to Texas as part of the California Exodus.
