ElfishToast

It's the name of a female mythical creature that takes on an appearance of an elf with a toast mark on both her cheeks. They are the only one of their kind but tend to stick around with small groups of other individuals. There use to be a whole village filled with these creatures but that was wiped out by unknown forces and the only one to live on was the 2904th, she is the last survivor of what use to be known as ToasterVille.

It can be used to describe something that's the last of it's kind/group.

Elevision

The act of people in an elevator staring up, uncomfortably, at the numbers as they light up when the car moves. Practiced out of nervousness.

When the elevator began moving, silence ensued as each person practiced their elevision.

Elisha Grey Syndrome

Developing a new idea independently (i.e., without assistance of others), only to discover that someone else has already developed the same idea.

Named for Elisha Grey, who invented the telephone independently of and at the same time as Alexander Graham Bell. Though they filed for patents on the same day, Bell won the patent battle in court.

I had a brilliant idea the other day about how this neighborhood really could use a donut-shop. Then, I found out one is scheduled to open next week. Guess I have Elisha Grey Syndrome.
