Mud Fence In The Rain

Originally coined by my late father who was angry about somebody on TV, it's a very versatile expression that conveys the absolute worst of a situation, person, place, or thing. Best used as a wisecrack or in total exasperation, disbelief, or disgust.
Ex 1) "Ugh, man ... she's uglier than a mudfence in the rain!"

Ex 2) "That makes about as much sense as a mud fence in the rain."

Ex 3) "Jesus, this country is falling apart like a mud fence in the rain!"

fencelights

Used when a group of people are sneaking around outside in the dark, for example trying to steal something from someone's back yard or throw rocks at cars, and someone spots a person coming who is not of their group; they either yell FENCELIGHTS loudly as a warning and everybody runs like hell, or they can secretly whisper it or transmit it over 2 way radio so everyone can clear the area stealthily. Similar to the common "five-0" but is used to indicate someone who doesnt know what theyre looking for, such as an innocent passer-by. Used among people formerly and still of several Edmonton (Canada) area high schools.
Etymology- When us friends were going through some guys shed, when a car came we were in plain view and the only warning of this was car headlights shining off the fence; and from then on there and everywhere else it came to be known as Fencelights.

fender rhodes

An addendum to my definition: CBS did not drop the Fender name in '69. That happened in '75. In '69, the silver-topped pianos, still bearing the Fender name, became the black-finished Mk 1 stage and suitcase series. Two very important years for Rhodes indeed. Then came the flat-topped Mk 2, etc. post-CBS. The last electric (tine/tuning fork) piano Rhodes produced was the Mk V in 1984.
Oops, I confused the major Rhodes developments of '69 and '75!! I'm a chumpah.
