She is called a "tomboy", but in actuality, she just wears natural makeup and jeans. No one takes her trauma seriously. She either dies in the end or is tainted by the evil around her. Even though the pieces of media try to make themselves seem progressive, the viewer can't help but feel that Dani is being punished for learning to set boundaries, falling in love with who she loves, and generally becoming a more confident person.
