Autism

It's almost like they're on an acid trip their whole life. Some are silly, smart or violent/temperamental and extremely difficult to raise and comfort with their psychological conditions. As they get older the mind does not mature properly and can remain in an adolescent state their whole life while still being highly functional adults that even have careers.

One of my biggest challenges as a camp counselor was making sure the autistic children were also having a good time.

A developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior (as well as physical and drug abuse). Originally with reference to a condition in which fantasy dominates over reality, regarded as a symptom of schizophrenia and other disorders on the autistic spectrum.
