A light skinned or mixed African-American who tries to pass for a colored race or ethnicity other than black. He spends most of his time with white people because he thinks it will allow him to advance professionally. black-barred

Used primarily in gaming terminology. Refers to the amount of "health" a character has left. Often health shows up as a red or green bar on the screen, as the health diminishes the bar becomes black. The term "black-barred" is used when an individual has so little health remaining that no red or green may be seen, simply the black bar that has replaced it. Generally used as an expression of emergency.

I need a healer, I am black-barred!

I can't fight that guy while I am black-barred.
