It’s a mutual agreement among men that sitting in silence with each other is not only acceptable, but encouraged. The silence is usually broken by someone oblivious to the Man Silence happening around them. Only once all men in the group recognize the silence together by giving each other slow nods of approval can the Man Silence be officially broken by one man stating “Man Silence”. Conversation then resumes as normal.
