This saying originates from the many couples that go into a private room or a private area during a party or social gathering, have their makeout session, and when asked where they were, say they were busy "getting the guitar" So the 2 have been linked together into one phrase

Tyrel: I hooked up with this new girl, am totally getting the guitar with her on the first date!
Friend: damn you move fast !

This is British slang used amongst teenagers. It's a way of saying getting wasted or drunk. It just means they're going to buy some cheap alcohol and get drunk off their faces.

Chav 1 - What ya doing this weekend mate?
Chav 2 - Getting steamed at this sick party, bro. You?
Chav 1 - Safe. I'm going swimming.
