Buffalo Nickel

Guys often refer to a good looking girl as a "dime", meaning the girl is a perfect 10 because there's 10 cents in a dime. So, you call a busted fat girl who's half as good looking and twice as big a Buffalo Nickel.

Hey look at that dime! It's too bad her friend is a Buffalo Nickel.

Nickel Bag

A code word for an amount of marijuana. Originally 5.6 grams of marijuana or one 5th of an ounce. Often confused due to the term "dime bag" code for a $10 bag, the term "nickel bag" was never measured on that same scale. Many avid smokers use this to identify posers and noobs. Where a dime (ten cent piece) refers to ten dollars worth, a nickel (five cent piece) refers to 1/5th of an ounce. A nickel is in fact worth more than a dime when referring to an amount of marijuana.

nickel rocket

Originally, a worn-out, coming-apart, or coverless baseball that was covered heavily with electrician's tape to extend its usefulness. (Early 20th century.)

We often played baseball all afternoon with nothing more than a nickel rocket if nobody could come up with an actual ball.
