A person who once was sad and now is independent. A retired emo kid use to listen to: Dashboard Confessional, The Get Up Kids and Taking Back Sunday. Being retired, they have now turned indie and listen to bands such as: Broken Social Scene, The Drums and Foals.

Emo spirit day is a popular fashion statement in Asia and America where teens emulate the "emotional" clothing styles that they see on television and in the music industry. This fashion consists mostly of teens sporting black shirts, tight jeans, safety pins, duct tape, and concert t-shirts.
