Surname of Igor Stechkin, a Soviet firearms designer. Widely known for designing the APS, or Stechkin Automatic Pistol (By it's initials in Russian, Автомат Пистолет Стечкина), which is still in active service on today's day and age.

Also used as a nickname for the pistol
