Academitis

Academitis is a condition that afflicts middle to upper class people educated to PhD level. Symptoms include: a distorted perception of self that is manifested as either arrogance or low self-esteem; fear of failure; blind ambition; self-imposed anxiety and depression with bouts of mania; mid- to high-level substance abuse. Sufferers of Academitis avoid discussing their emotions by intellectualizing them, frequently referring to books and articles written on the subject. The condition is likely to be accompanied by obsessive-compulsive behavior and thought processes.

I am not sure if I developed Academitis because of my PhD or if I am doing a PhD because I suffer from Academitis.

Dominican Academy

Everyone knows everyone. It’s hard to get from class to class because of how small the school is. All of the students there procrastinate on every single thing that can be procrastinated, but get everything done. The definition of Limbo. One of the places where everyone’s low-key scuicidal but not one has the energy or time to do anything about it. The school where all the students dress as monks because god forbid anyone sees their knees. Where girl nerds get humbled, everyone is super smart and kind, and most girls know the secret to Davinci’s code.

an extremely irrelevant school in Miami. there has been not one, but to two sexual assault cases in one year. the teachers hate the students that aren’t dancers and the students hate the teachers except for one religion teacher. the cafeteria is crawling with roaches that are probably more edible than the actual food served.

The condition where a person, who is not tired, instantly falls asleep or becomes sleepy when in a classroom setting. After leaving the classroom the person is once again alert.
