The one word that causes such a controversy when used, due to years of racial disregard toward blacks. However, sadly it used by the same people, as a word of friendship now. But if you are white, and unless you don't care, don't use. Nobody should use it. But, a word that has brought so much hatred and hurt is now freely used among themsleves. So here's to you, my nigger.

The word nigger was used as an adjective denoting a black person as early as the 17th century and has long had strong offensive meanings. Today it remains one of the most racially offensive words in our language.
To clear up the issue of the term "cracker" in comparison, I wanted to note some much needed information. First off, cracker comes from the sound that a whip makes when cast upon ones back. Remind anyone of anything? Maybe the time in the 19th century when the South's economy was based on slavery because their precious crop of cotton had to be mass produced. It is unknown to the degree of racism against blacks back then, but we do know that it was in existence. They were also considered property by the ignorant confederates who hated the race as it was. So, obviously, their is a story behind why the term "cracker is used". Now why is the word nigger used as a hate term? Because you have a problem with people with darker complextion. Is that why the new founders in the 17th century came up with nigger? Or is it because they were ignorant and their eyes could'nt tell they were humans.
So I definently see how that could be an offensive term especially since it has been carried on for ages. Now cracker on the other hand is just a term of self defense, because that is what the white men were. No white men should be called cracker either, because they were not ones who are necesarly racist or prejudice. Both terms cause nothing but dispute between both races and shouldnt continue back and forth.

The "N-Word" is very confusing, while when a "white boy" uses this "n-word" it is deemed "racist" "Rude" and a variety of cuss words shall follow if a "black" person is in the room. But... If a person of African Descent uses this word it is totally alright, they use it all the time!
Example: I being a "white boy" have been in many places with "black" people. Almost everytime I walk past them I hear things like: "Oh you stupid Nigga" or "Don't go there niggy" also "Damn it nigger, I fucked up my leg" many more, actually one time I was called a Nigger by a black person, I asked them what they called me, no response, I said, "Did you just call me a Nigger?" I got yelled at, the black lady and her friend went away and I heard them use the word some more.

1)A word that many african-americans take harshly, back in the slave days it was no big deal 'cause thats jus what black people were called, and they werent offended, they came to terms. Nowadays the word is, and should be frowned upon in society, for the most part atleast. If a white person says it, black people are offended. If a black person calls a white person a cracker or a honkey, no one gets offended really, because the words cracker or honkey(lol) have no history, there just made up words that are kind of funny. Nigger on the other hand used to not be a big deal back in the 1800s, but now it is because black people arent slaves anymore, so there is pretty much no need for that word to be thrown around. Alot of crime may be caused by african-americans, but alot of crime is caused by all races.
