(epigraph) AKA “Holden’s Law” is when bad timing, a lack of patience, or a combination of the two result in a conflict of which dealer to buy from.
The most common example of William Holden’s Law is When your regular guy hasn’t gotten back to you in like, an hour, so you text your other guy you reach out to only when your regular is out of town, and you know his stuffs not as good, but your desperate as fuck so you say “sure”.
They respond instantly and say “come on through”, but as soon as your on the way out the door, your regular homie says “I’ll be home in 5, come on by”.

A law that states that if it exists, someone will put a VHS filter over it and call it Analog Horror.
"Did you see that new Family Guy analog horror? Its kind of bad." "Sounds like Flaze's Law in action."

In any internet conversation that involves strangers, and where the subject is either war or firearms, the longer the conversation continues the greater the likelihood that a poster will claim to be a SEAL.
Mike's Law in Action: "You obviously know nothing about the AR-15. As an active SEAL I can break one down blindfolded, hence your argument is moot."
by Mike the Non-Seal January 20, 2013

When a piece of media (most often a show) is objectively badly written, it will garner fans anyway due to mental health awareness and/or LGBTQ representation. Some examples include 13 Reasons Why, Glee Club, and the namesake of this law, Steven Universe. It may also very well be the case that the media has some redeeming qualities, such as good character moments, or good visual composition, however these qualities are a vast minority compared to the objectively bad narratives within the show.
Person A: "I like insert media because it has gays in it!"
Person B: "Is it really good, or are you following Steven's Law?"
