A woman's intuition is like a superpower that a woman is born with, and it remains with her forever. It is this little albeit powerful voice inside of her spirit. Like a good cop trying to protect her, it warns her of dangerous situations. It will likely save her life several times. A woman's intuition is a gift from God.
Keshia: You gotta hear this.
Faith: What is it?
Keshia: A few weeks ago, a guy asked me out, but I turned him down because I had an uneasy feeling about it. This morning, I was watching the news, and I saw that that same guy was arrested for assault. I'm lucky I didn't go with him.
Faith: That ain't luck, that's your woman's intuition.

The mistaken belief that because complete induction (examining every case) is impossible, no inductive conclusion can be trusted. This fallacy rejects all generalizations on the grounds that we haven't examined every instance—ignoring that induction works by sampling, not census. It's the logic of "you haven't read every book, so you can't say books exist," of "you haven't met every French person, so you can't generalize about French culture." The fallacy of impossible induction is beloved of those who want to dismiss well-supported generalizations by demanding impossible standards of proof. It's a cousin of the perfect knowledge fallacy, and just as paralyzing.
Fallacy of Impossible Induction Example: "She cited studies showing the benefits of exercise. He responded with the fallacy of impossible induction: 'But you haven't studied every person who ever exercised. How do you know it works for everyone?' She said science doesn't require studying everyone; it requires representative samples. He said that wasn't proof. She said that was how proof works. He remained unconvinced, which was his right, but also his loss."

Get the Fallacy of Impossible Induction mug.The mistaken belief that only exhaustive induction—examining every possible case—can establish truth. This fallacy rejects all probabilistic, statistical, or sampling-based reasoning as insufficient, demanding certainty that is rarely available and never necessary. It's the logic of "you can't prove all swans are white until you've seen every swan," ignoring that science doesn't prove in that sense. The fallacy of exhaustive induction is the mirror image of the fallacy of impossible induction: both set impossible standards, one by rejecting induction entirely, the other by demanding a form of induction that's rarely possible. Together, they form a pincer movement against any empirical claim.
Fallacy of Exhaustive Induction Example: "He demanded exhaustive proof that climate change was real: 'Have you measured every temperature reading everywhere on Earth for the last hundred years?' No, because that's impossible. But you don't need exhaustive proof; you need representative proof. He demanded the impossible and therefore rejected the possible. The fallacy had done its work: blocking belief with an unmeetable standard."

Get the Fallacy of Exhaustive Induction mug.The tactic of inflating the burden of proof beyond reasonable standards, demanding impossible levels of evidence while offering none in return. Burden of proof inflation is what happens when one side demands "proof" that would satisfy a mathematician while offering "evidence" that wouldn't satisfy a toddler. It's the logic of "prove vaccines are safe" (impossible standard) while accepting "I read on Facebook that they're dangerous" (no standard at all). Burden of proof inflation is a favorite of bad-faith arguers, who can always demand more, always raise the bar, always find the evidence insufficient. The cure is recognizing that burden of proof is not infinite; reasonable standards exist, and they apply to both sides.
Burden of Proof Inflation Example: "She provided study after study showing vaccine safety. He dismissed each one—too small, too old, too biased, too something. Burden of proof inflation had raised the bar beyond any possible reach. When she asked what evidence he would accept, he said 'I'll know it when I see it.' He never saw it."

Get the Burden of Proof Inflation mug.The phenomenon where you want to be able to have more and more screen time whilst still having screen time limits imposed by parents remain equally strict. This is mainly caused by constantly subscribing to new YouTube channels, which does not show maturity in limiting your own screen time. Rather, it tells the YouTube algorithm that you're willing to have more hours of YouTube per day even though you may "only" do this as a mere digital form of "tipping". It's akin to the akcual inflation, where prices and cost of living increases significantly whilst your wage remains equally low.
Ever since Jamie started subscribing to all those YouTube channels, his screen time inflation has skyrocketed; he wants to watch more videos but still has to stick to the equally strict limits set by his parents.
