1. The feeling of waiting for others to process the brilliance of your pun.
2. The feeling of suspense you experience after you set someone up for a punny joke.

Nerd: Did you hear that our chemistry teacher died?
Geek: That's sad... Where did they barium?
Nerd: Finally! I tried setting that joke up with five other people and the punticipation's been killing me.
Geek: I zinc you argon-na have to learn some less nerdy jokes.
Nerd: Mind your own bismuth.
Geek: Okay, that's enough.

Pontecarlo

The town of Pontefract's affectionate name. Dubbed 'Pontecarlo' due to it's striking resemblance to Monte Carlo, with it's beautiful scenery and vibrant night life. The peak attraction for the evening being 'Big Fella's', a classy discotheque of the highest order. Twinned with Casvegas (Castleford, Yorkshire), Pontecarlo's rival sibling.

wax poetic

To speak or write about something in a highly eloquent or verbose manner. Comes from "wax" meaning "grow" or "become" as in the waxing and waning of the moon, thus "to wax poetic" is equivalent to "to grow poetic." Thus "to wax poetically" doesn't really make sense, as it would mean "to grow poetically," which isn't the same as "to grow poetic."

All you can do is wax poetic on your new computer -- let me talk for a change!
