Red eye in the morning

A play on the rhyme "Red sky at night", this is an excerpt of the entire rhyme;

"Red eye at night,
Stoners delight.

Red eye in the morning,
Stoners warning."

The rhyme refers to marijuana smoking, which can cause a users eyes to become bloodshot and red, and often being a telltale sign of somebody being stoned.

A bad omen. A sign of bad things to come. A sign of bad weather. Comes from the New England expression: "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning." This referred to the belief that the sky's color was a predictor of the good or bad weather soon to come.
