Before this phrase was used on Buffy, it was used on Jag, episode 10 from season 1. Austin spoke it to Rabb while she was in the hospital room.
This episode aired a whole year before Buffy season one hit tv.

In a business transaction where both buyer and seller rate each other, both parties agree to give the other “5 stars.” This presumes that 5 stars is the highest rating.

As I stepped out of my Uber, I shouted, “Five-for-Five bro?” We then both gave each other a 5-star rating.

Five minutes and five brains late

Definition:
Used to describe someone who is not only physically late but also mentally slow to catch up or understand what’s going on. They miss the moment and the point.

Friend 1: “Did you see Josh just asked what the assignment is? We turned it in yesterday.”
Friend 2: “Yeah, man’s five minutes and five brains late.”
