this is similar to asexuality.
also, this is not the same as 'what a normal relationship is.' for example, a demisexual would feel uncomfortable on a blind date or being asked out by someone they dont know very well.

Demisexual means that you need to have a romantic connection to someone to have sexual feeling for them unlike what most people think (which is that they don’t date for body’s but still have sexual relations with strangers)

A demisexual person is not sexually attracted to someone unless they have a close bond/relationship with said person. For example, I am demi-bi Someone can be demi-heterosexual, demi-homosexual, demi-bisexual, demi-pansexual, etc. It is not an extreme love for demi lovato. It is a real thing.

Somebody who experiences sexual attraction once they have a VERY strong emotional connection with someone. The identity of demisexual falls under the asexual umbrella, and is an LGBTQ+ identity. Demisexuals should never be excluded by homophobes or people in the LGBTQ+ community.
