cairo overcoat

A sarcophagus. Like a Chicago overcoat, but Ancient Egyptian. The most famous Cairo Overcoat is used by the Homestuck character Lord English; it is made of the fabric of spacetime and can transform from a sarcophagus into a real coat and back.

Stitch mutters to himself in his shop. He guesses Eggs and Biscuits are roughhousing again, because the fabric of spacetime is tearing something fierce on Lord English's CAIRO OVERCOAT. This sort of thing is exactly why he keeps a BACKUP COAT, and always leaves Stitch with one of them.

1) A Dandy--a dandy--a gay man, so called because of Joel Cairo in "The Maltese Falcon." Joel Cairo is one of the first clearly gay men to appear in American film. A Joel Cairo is probably a gay man who hasn't come out but is kinda obvious if you smell his gardenia scented business cards.

2) To do a Joel Cairo is recoup your losses after having seemed to have failed. To suddenly rally in the face of defeat--much in the same way Hulk Hogan suddenly comes back from the dead when the Hulkamaniacs start screaming his name.
