Some suggest that the word is a festive reincarnation of a saying from Mario Kart character 'Toad' who'd often say "Aaah-buhbuhbuh" upon crashing.

Harry: "Sure thing"

Roger: "Oh shit dude, the bacon's gone mouldy.."
