A person doing consistent, unproductive activities during creature hours. Different varieties include cave creatures, studious creatures, feral creatures, and others. Once a creature has gone to bed and/or "passed out" for the night they are no longer a creature.
The boys were such creatures last night that they went to get more beer at midnight.
