IF u r from maryland annapolis and call ya city naptown u r dumb because maryland's nickname is Murdaland if im not mistaken. annapolis is not even gangsta. maryland's crime happens in Baltimore.Come 2 da REAL naptown and stay a nite. da first thing u hear about is a murder in da mornin.

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND. if you really dont believe it, then look downtown and see all the shops that sell shirts that say NAPTOWN. all you Indy's just give up. and if it is a nickname for indy, then then its like "nap" town cause its so BORING that people would take naps.

Naptown

Originally a derogatory word used to describe Indianapolis, Indiana when the economy was dead and Indy was merely a crossroads with nothing to do. This term died and then was revived by Jazz musicians and more recently used in rap songs. Naptown now accurately describes the laid back culture of Indianapolis that has spawned from the rural Indiana culture that surrounds it.
Some people also call it naptown due to its "ho hum" party scene in downtown.

I went to Naptown last weekend, hit up a concert, and chilled with some friends.

Indianapolis, Indiana has called itself "nap-town" in the past stealing Annapolis, Maryland's nickname. But its cool cuz people refer to it as indian-naptown now.

Indiana person: I'm from Nap-twon
Maryland person: No, I'm from Nap-town
Hindu person: Guys, I have an idea- how about (Indian)anapolis can be called indian-naptown and the original naptown stays the same.

Isn't is obvious that naptown refer's to either IndiaNAPolis or AnNAPolis? Like seriously why would anyone get mad that another city uses the same nickname? I live in Annapolis and have lived in the area for 5 years, have heard it called naptown during all this time, and the only reason I even looked it up in urban dictionary was because I heard lil jon shouting out to naptown and couldnt understand why he would shout out to our city. I mean seriously the entire city is like a picnic. Im sure rappers usually are referring to Indianapolis, but if you come to Maryland, we'll think you mean annapolis.

Thank God we're close to baltimore and D.C. because there aint shit to do in naptown.
