Get the Gocela mug.Gopala is another name for the Hindu God Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is known as Krishen, Kanhaiya, Gopal, and Gopala, and various other names. He is usually depicted with either a flute in adult form, and surrounded by women; or as a kid eating butter as a child, as he was known to be a butter thief!
Gopala is not a very commonly used name, very few Gopalas around now, so if you know one, hang on tight!!!

Get the gopala mug.A Greek word meaning "Good News" it is often used in the New Testament of the Christian Bible to refer to news of the savior, even Jesus Christ.
This word has been the source of some confusion to date, particularly from Paul's use of it in Galatians 1:6-8 KJV -
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
Jesus here is not talking about the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These had not been written at the time of Galatians. He is condemning gospels which are not of Jesus Christ. If it is about Jesus Christ and how he is the savior, he's not condemning it.

Don't preach other false doctrines (gospels) which say cows or aliens will redeem us, lest you be accursed.

Get the Gospel mug.a doctrine taught by mostly evangelical Christian televangelists that wealth and propserity are promised in the Bible for devoting your life to God, or that a life of wealth and health and prosperity are signs of God's favor. Unfortunately, the prosperity gospel is not just unBiblical, but is used by these televangelists to get you to donate your money to their organization. I am a Christian myself and dont buy into the prosperity gospel.
The prosperity gospel unfortunately leads others astray and exploits one's desire to have wealth and health in this life. In a way, the prosperity gospel teaches a person to pursue wealth and not God himself, and could be considered a form of idolatry. If the prsperity gospel is true, then why wasn't Mother Teresa or Jesus rich?? Does being "poor" mean you are being chastised by God? Just a few thoughts.
