Those lame,local TV ads that drive customers away due to their amateurish,home-made,ridiculous,and downright embarrassing nature. Typically a low budget advertisement featuring the business owner dressed up as a clown,a king or a mattress. Often features the business owners kids or other family members.

Those Mister Mattress TV spots are counterproductive advertising.I'd never buy anything from that fool.

counterproductive advertisement

Any advertisement that causes the viewer to boycott the product rather than purchase it. They usually cause people to cringe with disgust when they see them. This does NOT include the Snuggie and the Shamwow T.V. ads(and a few select others) because they were so over the top, which made people want to buy them as a joke.

Snorgtees, The General Insurance, That new evil Cheeto's Cheetah, Mr. Mucus Mucinex, That one fungus commercial with the animated green blob living under your toenail, various internet spam popups, Head On, and many more depending on viewer opinion.

Person: "I can't stand that guy's voice who does the Carls Jr. commercials with all the messy burgers. He makes me want to eat at Jack-in-the-Box."

Seventh Day Adventist

Christian group integrating intellectual experience in addition to the emotional experience sought after by other denominations. Observing old beliefs of protestant denominations. Valuing beliefs of early Christianity. Fastest growing religion in the US, and longest living people. Exists in the most countries.
Still observe the Saturday Sabbath, they visit friends/family, worship God, relax and refrain from buying; believing that Sabbath buying (making someone else work) takes away someone else's opportunity to relax. They will do work contributing/helping society: soup kitchens, work as doctors, nurses and police
Has no true governing body like other churches, believing God is the head, changes come about as a result of the actions of church as a whole.

viral advertising

(Also known as viral marketing). Releasing a video or other creation in hopes that it will be widely forwarded and be beneficial for a product or service referenced in the creation. If the creation seems amateurish even though it was created by professionals paid by the organization that benefits from being referenced, the effort is known as "subviral".

A cartoon showing three bathroom stalls with balloons of the expressions "Butt", "Wipe", and "Errr" should be suspected of being viral marketing for Anhaeuser Busch.
