emo lite

Definition:
Trying to be emo, yet failing at a trend that already fails. You only embrace the commercial aspect of the emo "culture". You probably just got into emo because of Twilight, Adam Lambert etc. When the next thing rolls around, you roll with it.

Example:
Guy: Dude, look at Trevor. He started listening to "My Chemical Romance", and now he's walking around in black and thinking everything sucks.
Guy 2: I know, he's like emo lite.

electro-emo

Electro-emo is a fusion between Emo and Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Pioneered by Panic at the Disco, the style can feature synthesisers, drum loops, guitars and vocals (sometimes screamed). A genre related to this is Crunkcore, which also includes hip-hop influences. This style uses repetitive hip hop beats, screamed vocals and house influenced synths.

These genres are basically for misguided emo kids who can't stand punk, metal or alternative, but still want their music taste to be known as "Emo" so they can go into Hot Topic without being ripped to shreds by screamo revivalists.

Emo: Hey, do you like Orchid?

Emo grunt

The voiced, gutteral grunt made by someone (typically a preteen child) used to express indignation, or frustration.

Whenever Christie's 11-year-old daughter doesn't get her way, she immediately emo grunts and stomps her foot, as though that's gonna change Christie's decision one bit. Well, sometimes it does.
