Entering a situation without being fully prepared.
Origin: Muskets and revolvers have a lowered, half-cocked, and full-cock position for the hammer. During loading, the weapon is brought to a half-cock. The weapon must then be brought to a full-cock to be used. Forgetting to cock the weapon leads to it being unprepared for combat.

The boxer did'nt do any research on his opponent, and went off half-cocked to fight somebody twice his size.

crooked head syndrome

When an individual develops a slight curve in his or her neck making it appear the head is crooked. May progressively get worse until head is parallel to the ground. Usually making an individual less attractive. Depression often pairs with crooked head syndrome.

Algonquin Slow Cooker

Another name for a food barrel, an animal-proof container used by people who go camping deep into the woods for days at a time. During hot weather it can render some perishable food items malodorous with a nasty shade of blueish-green.

Upon reaching the campsite on Day 5, Eric didn't mind digging deep into the algonquin slow cooker to get an opened pack of hot dogs buried at the bottom.
