For example, a city conservative would not voice total opposition to abortion, or shame those who have one, they just would not get one themselves. It is an evolution of the ‘silent majority’ analogy in US politics whereby pragmatic conservatives who want a stable family, a secure job, moral value and a love of country do not want to be placed in the same box as MAGA republicans.
