Something which can used to create memes easily and which can have many variations. Usually this is one or two pictures of the same thing or very similar things, but sometimes it will be a single image, a combination of very different images from unrelated sources or rarely not be an image but a concept which lends itself to many memes.
Etymology: Meme + –ible. From
the Ancient Greek μῖμος, –ου (mîmos –ou) meaning “copy or imitation” same root as ‘mime’ and ‘mimic’. Commonly misspelled as ‘memeable’ however as ‘meme’ ends in a silent ‘e’ the ‘e’ is dropped, and since ‘mîmos’ is a second declination masculine word in the Ancient Greek, –ible is used instead of –able.

Memetic appropriation is when somebody says a meme reference but they don't actually understand the context behind the meme and have no idea where the meme originated from. They only say it because everybody else is saying it.
