The Gentleman’s Law

An unspoken law for men to abide by, they cannot go first through a door or do any action when there is a lady present. After the lady has gone, the gentleman follow.
Female 1: oh it’s ok go ahead
Male 1: oh no, ladies first.
Female 1: oh no I insist
Male 1: I cannot, it breaks the gentleman’s law.

Female 1: oh please,
Male 1: I cannot break the law, it makes all us gentlemen feel like crap.

Parkinson’s law

Despite common misconceptions, Parkinson’s law is in fact more akin to Poka Yoke whereby a relentless focus on increasing the efficiency of an organization through any means necessary benefits both employees and shareholders.
When a management consultant applied Parkinson’s law to make my call center more efficient by requiring us to badge in to use the bathroom, I was initially upset because I could no longer take a nap in the stall after lunch, but soon realized I got more done at work at slept better at night. Win win!

Ted’s Law

The law that, in generality and absent mitigating circumstances or context, “the fact that you have to say ‘they’re not that bad’ means that they are that bad.”

First published after extensive research into the sexually available women of Boston, MA in the 2012 Seth MacFarlane film Ted, spoken by the eponymous Ted, whom MacFarlane also voiced.
Ted:
Look, all I'm saying is that Boston women are, on the whole, a paler, uglier sort than women from the elsewheres of life.

John:
That's bullshit. What about Lori? She's hot.

Ted:
No, Lori's from Pennsylvania. That's not a Boston girl.

John:
They're not that bad.

Ted:
See, the fact that you have to say "they're not that bad" means that they are that bad.

Guy watching the movie: So that’s where Ted’s Law comes from!

If an internet community is insular enough and has access to Photoshop, members of it will start Photoshopping themselves into weird animal hybrids.
