Pharmasorticals

New age treatments/alternative medicine with no medical value - but a lot of hype. Especially from celebs and Presidents and even some doctors.
For example: taking hydroxychloroquine for Covid.

Or Non-medicines that sound like medicine - drinking diluted clorox.

Or even quack treatments like using the Joovv on you testicles

She heard that plastic inhalers in the ocean were killing whales so now she's using a Pharmasorticals breathing timer she found on Amazon to treat her asthma.

"Don't roll your eyes at me GOOP detox juice is medically recognized! You can find it on Amazon under pharmasrticals."

Pharmasorticals is an important new category of consumer goods.

Medicinal drugs dat cause so much harm dat their manufacturers get hauled into court over them.

Anytime I see a new "wonder drug" advertised, I always make sure to look it up online to see if there have been any major legal kerfuffles about it; usually there will indeed have been major allegations about unrevealed dangers and side-effects of said product, and so I just chalk it up as being yet another in a long string of pharmasueticals!

Pharmacopeia

Pharmacopeia (or pharmacopoeia) is a book or collection of official standards and guidelines for the preparation, quality control, and use of medicines and other healthcare products. These standards are established by national or international organisations such as the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and are acknowledged as the gold standard for ensuring the quality and safety of medicinal substances and products. Pharmacists, physicians, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies often refer to pharmacopoeias to make sure that the medicines and healthcare products they use or produce meet the required quality standards and are safe and effective for patient use.

The British Pharmacopeia (BP) requires the Paracetamol content to be between 95.0% and 105.0% of the labeled amount.

The BP also specifies limits for impurities such as p-aminophenol, 4-chloroaniline, and 4-aminophenol. For example, the limit for p-aminophenol is not more than 0.001%.
