automatic writing

1. a form of writing, often employed by surrealist poets, done by thinking as little as possible about what one is writing so that the thoughts from the id, unhindered by the ego, may come through.
2. a form of writing done in a similar manner, with a complete lack of any thought on the writer's part, employed by spiritualists who wish to "channel in" the thoughts of spirits or other entities from different planes of existence.
3. a form of writing done in the above manner by mental patients who are instructed to do so, so that their inner thoughts may be examined by psychological authorities

Typer's writing syndrome

When you type so often that you begin to write out common typos that would occur when typing, such as switching a "t" for an "r" (because t and r are next to each other on the keyboard).

I was writing my essay by hand because my computer was broken when I wrote the word "proffesot" instead of professor. It was a classic example of my typer's writing syndrome.

stall waiting

The near certainty that if you don't stand right outside the only stall in the bathroom, waiting for its occupant to finish, someone will slip in ahead of you once it's vacated. This is exacerbated by the equal certainty that your date will conclude you've slipped out the back door of the restaurant if you don't return to the table immediately and explain what's happening. It's a good reason to take a cell phone to the bathroom.

So this guy is taking forever to leave the stall, two other people are lined up outside the men's room, and my date calls my cell phone to say she's sure I have commitment issues. I tell her I'm on stall waiting, and I'll be back just as soon as possible.
