a combination of the commonly used phrases shut-up and whatever. This word simply tells someone to shut-up while at the same time dismissing what they've said, hence the 'whatever'.

State of Jefferson

A proposed US state combining the counties of Southern Oregon and Northern California. The movement was started my the mayor of Port Orford, Oregon in the early 1940s, but the attack on Pearl Harbor brought the movement to a halt. The proposal's influence remains in the area's NPR network (called Jefferson Public Radio) and in an Oregon Highway named the State of Jefferson Scenic Byway.

The State of Jefferson was going to be the 51st U.S. state.
