local music scene

Any localized music-oriented community of bands and their fans. Local music scenes become a key role in incidents of disharmony (“drama”) for individuals between the age 18 and 37 years-old. While many local music scenes purport to extol “unity” and “cooperation” and similar such ideals, at the end of the day, all scenesters know that their participation in the scene is ultimately reducible to the fact that they enjoy groupthink, self-censorship, and pretending to have a legitimate excuse for not completing their undergraduate education.

Person 1: Whatever happened to that guy? As I recall he was pretty smart, not to mention cool. What is he up to these days?

Person 2: Not much. He was involved in the local music scene for the past twenty years, and now he is living with his parents and "attending" the University of Phoenix.

Person 1: Oh.

Scenedie

a Scene kid who tries to be indie and trys to hang in an indie crowd.
A Scenedie kid usually listens to a mixture of Bring Me The Horizon and bands like Arctic Monkeys or the Kooks.
male fashion is usually a mixture of band t-shirts, skinny jeans,cardigans,jumpers,hoodies etc.
Female fashion is usually the same with the exception of jumpers and the addition of floral dresses,
They sometimes have facial piercings or flesh tunnels.

Indie kid: did you hear that new song by the Libertines?
Scenedie kid: yeah it's well good bree bree!
Indie Kid:piss off!

scene poser

A scene poser is someone who tries to be scene because they think that it is cool, but aren't really scene. They suddenly change themselves completely. They start wearing different clothes, acting different, hanging with different people; all because it is 'cool'.

You can tell they are not scene because they were known differently before they suddenly changed themselves and don't know much about being scene at all. They just did it because they want to be 'in' and 'cool'.

Hey, who is that girl?"
"It's Amy."
"That preppy girl?"
"Yeah."
"What happened to her?"
"She became a scene poser."

A kid who's life basically revolves around rock music and who follows the rock trends usually imspired by Hardcore/Punk/Emo/ etc etc.They love to take photos from wierd angles that are later posted on myspace or purevolume.They hang around in packs or will usually be nice to anyone they find interesting other wise they won't give you the time of day.They love to go to shows where they perform dances such as:

Long dark hair that is brushed to one side or covering face (Usually streaked)

They are not a plague and they won't bother you if you leave them alone.They're just a bunch a kids comforming to a non comformist trend.
