yuppie's necktie fallacy

Fallacious belief that something must be good because you shelled out a lot of money for it. From the joke about two nouveau-riche types who are standing next to each other at a party wearing identical ties. One says, "I got this tie for five hundred Euro". The other says, "That's nothing. I got mine for at least two thousand Euro." Not to be confused with the principal that if you buy cheap, you get cheap ... for a yuppie's necktie is never cheap.

Don't spend a hundred grand on a car. Only those who can't see through the yuppie's necktie fallacy do that.

A band that everyone seems to think only has the fan base of young emo kids. BOLLOCKS! Fall Out Boy have had a huge fan base since wayyyyy before Sugar We're Goin Down got them into the charts. Just cos a load of kids jumped on the band-wagon doesn't mean that this is their target audience. And if some of these kids actually listened to their lyrics they'd realise they're not an emo band anyway

Excellent thrash metal band out of Massachusetts who did nothing but TOUR, TOUR, TOUR to get their name out there. A Shadows Fall show is never boring; frontman Brian Fair can never seem to stay in one place on stage. Just watch out for the massive dreadlocks.

JASON BITTNER (drummer) is a GOD...does double bass faster than most people could ever dream of.

The new album, The War Within, is excellent...as are the other ones.
