chat burn-out

When you make a new friend on facebook/myspace/gmail/aim and chat every time both of you are online until you have nothing to talk about and start avoiding the friend except for the occasional update. The point where all topics have been covered and chat becomes less frequent is known as chat burn-out.

Bronson: Hey David what are you and Maddie chatting about on facebook? David: oh nothing much these days, we kind of reached chat burn-out.

chat race

When one person in an online chat starts to say something before they realize that the other person is typing. This results in one or both people either stopping their typing or racing to finish typing before the other person.

I wanted to break up with John, but I lost the chat race and had to agree to a date.

I chat raced Jane to correct her spelling before she did.

Chat Coma

1. Anyone who is away from their keyboard or busy with life or pm's, who doesn't answer in a room or pm box.
2. Any name placed in a chat room, but the user is not monitoring the room. Usually these names never reply when someone types or talks to them.

Example: Julie hasn't answered anyone in the room today, she must be in a chat coma.

The common practice of using chat programs and/or online dating websites for the sole purpose of getting off. Similar to sexting, only using established chat programs or internet sites with profile pics to masturbate.

Wish I had a dollar for every time a guy's tried chat whacking with me online!

chat faux pas

When you have multiple chat/IM/messenger windows open with different people simultaneously and you inadvertently type and send an insulting/offensive/insensitive comment in the wrong chat window, specifically the one with the person referred to.
